2012 Wilmot Street Stock rules?
Street Stock meeting is set up for Sunday, December 18th. No location announced yet.
Pretty sure I'm gonna attend on the off chance I get a hair up my ass and build one.
What are people looking to update/change for 2012?
Headers?
Aluminum intake manis?
Different carb options?
Rear suspension setups?
Street stock people - chime in!
alum-heads,
They should allow headers. At least ya know what everybody's got then!!!
Headers are cheeeeeeap too.
maybe a spec header a cam rule would be nice... not have a choice of carb. one or the other...
or just say f it and have a open motor rule but only thing is no alum.. so cast block and cast heads cast intake and a 2brl
big motor's cmon man no replacement for diplacement lol
I'd like to see an allowance for factory supplied aluminum heads... Say a Ford modular 4.6 - they ALL had aluminum heads...
LS motors almost all had aluminum heads, not all though.
Leave your purse in the wife's car and build a feffin racecar run what ya brung
I agree completly!!
Ford hasnt put a cast iron headed motor in a passenger car since 1995 IIRC...
Aluminum intake manifold woud need to be allowed too then as the LS and modular carb conversion manis are all aluminum!!!
:D
run a 406 run a 377 or 383 or what ever as long as its cast.. guys down south run them kind of rule ENGINE
OPTION 1: CRATE ENGNE - GM Performance Parts (GPP) factory-sealed CT400 Chevy small block crate
engine (Part No. 88958604): includes 8-quart circle track oil pan with dual kick-out design, valve cover
breather kit, open-plenum high-rise intake manifold, 1.5:1-ratio aluminum roller rockers, forged steel
crankshaft, hypereutectic pistons, 23° Fast Burn aluminum heads and special "kool nut" rocker arm design.
Must be unaltered and sealed from factory at appropriate points (intake, head, timing chain cover and
oil pan) with approved GPP break-off bolts. Any altered, damaged or missing GPP break-off bolts will result
in driver being disqualified from that event, loss of all track points accumulated up to, and including, the date
of the offense, a $1,000 fine and a one-year suspension from all events. May utilize one (1) Holley 4-barrel
carburetor. Use of a spacer between carburetor and intake is optional, but must be no more than one (1) inch
thick if used and may not be throttle bore adjustable. Aerosol carburetors are not permitted. Any driver
running a “Standard” engine with a “Crate” sticker will be disqualified.
i like the crate idea. 9'' floaters should be allowed. so u can take the car down south
no floaters,,, 9in non flaters yes,, still can go down or up and run
HOW ABOUT THIS HEADERS NO MORE THAN A 10.8.1 COMPRESSION RULE U MUST RUN STOCK UNALTERED HOLLEY 4412 WITH NO MORE THAN A ONE INCH CARB SPACER UNALTERED AS WELL ROLLER TIP ROCKERS ARE ALLOWED CAM CAN NOT EXCEED NO MORE THAN A 490 INCH LIFT ROCKERS MUST HAVE A 1.5 RATIO NO 1.6 U WILL BE DQED VORTEC HEADS ARE ALLOWED SO ARE FUELIE HEADS NO PORT WORK OR GASKET MATCHING NO GRINDING AT ALL. A 15LB PENALTY IF YOU WANT TO RUN FUELIE HEAD. THE ONLY ALUMINUM INTAKE ALLOWED IS A DUAL PLANE EDELBROCK PERFORMER RPM. IF YOU CHOSE TO RUN A CAST IRON INTAKE YOU WILL RECIVE A 20 LB WEIGHT BREAK WITH THIS RULE PACKAGE YOU COULD TAKE THE CAR ANY WHERE AND RACE IT WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS SUSPENSION RULES NO BIGGER THAN A ONE INCH FRONT SWAY BAR NO REAR SWAY BARS NO ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS NO COIL OVERS SHOCKS MUST REMAIN IN STOCK UNALTERED LOCATION REAR ENDS ANY GM REAR END FORD NINE INCH ALLOWED REAR END MUST REMAIN MOUNTED IN STOCK LOCATION UN ALTERED TIRE RULE WE HAVE IS FINE BUT IF U RUN THE RADIALS I THINK U SHOULD GET A 30 POUND WEIGHT BREAK AND SHOULD BE ALLOWED A BRAKE BIAS IN THE CAR ONLY THOSE RUNNING STREET RADIALS .ONE MORE THING IF YOU CHOSE TO RUN THE CRATE MOTOR YOU CAN USE A HOLLEY 650 FOUR BARREL UN ALTERED
i like that... but i really dont want to see a crate motor
we also need to have the tools to check the cam and rockers...i think no fuelie heads
WELL HOW BOUT FUELIE HEADS WITH A 50 POUND WIEGHT PENALTY I JUST PUT THE CRATE MOTOR ON THERE SO IT WAS COVERED THIS WOULD ALLOW OTHER SPROTSMANS FROM OTHER TRACKS TO COME RUN WILMOT ON OFF NIGHT LIKE THE MIDAM SERIES IF THEY WANTED TO BRING IT OUT ON THE DIRT THEY COULD OR YOUR COULD TAKE YOUR CAR ANY WHERE IN IL WISCONSIN AND RUN IT THAT IS WHY I PUT THE CRATE MOTOR IN THERE I AGREE THEY NEED THE TOOLS TO DO THE JOB RIGHT AS FAR AS CAM LIFT THEY COULD PUT ONE TYPE OF ROLLER TIP ROCKER THAT WOULD BE LEGAL THAT WAY IT WOULD BE STANDARISZED AND THEY WOULD KNOW AS SOON AS THEY SAW IT IF IT WASNT THIS KIND THEN IT WOULD BE ILEGAL SO THEY WOULD KNOW WHAT IT WAS JUST BY LOOKING AT IT
i like that i also think there should be a spec header.. be kinda cool to take the car out and run with the mid-am cars or the sportmans
