Who doesnt like brackets?
Who doin it???
word around town is the Massive Speed / Norgard Racing #28 Monte piloted by Aaron Katzenberg will be in action!
Went to Jefferson, unfortunately only approx 25 cars showed. They cancelled the races at approx 12 noon.
High tailed it to Columbus 151 for the ISS/Gladiator Enduro races.
Great action!!! This was all overshadowed with the tragedy that followed however.
Unfortunately, in the Gladiator Outlaw Street stock race, former Lake Geneva racer Tommy Nevoso had an issue that proved fatal.
It's unclear what really occured at this time. He was on the top of the track in turn 2 and had a right front flat tire. It appeared as if he was headed to the infield, but seemed to almost stop sideways in the end of the turn. The track was full of fast moving racers (approx 30 cars or so entered this division on Columbus's 1/4 mile paved oval), all of whom tried to avoid the stalled/stopped car. One vehicle could not, got sideways, and slid into Tommy's car. The collision didn't seem all that bad to myself of other spectators but a few minutes later the driver was out of the car and the paramedics had Tommy on the ground attempting to resuscitate via defibrillation. The track announced the races were ended, cleared cars off the track.
The distant sound of helicopter blades signaled just how serious the situation was to all present. Alas the helicopter's expedited service was never utilized.
It's possible Tommy was injured in the collision. But it seems to me, and even recounted by other drivers, that the car was limp at the time. It seems some form of heart attack or stroke rendered him unable to pilot the car further and the accident was merely coincidental.
Rest in Peace, Tommy. As more than a few commented, regardless of cause, he died doing something he loved.
holy shit man thats horrible.
ive raced with that series for a long time, what car number was he?
edit: i think he was car 84.
