Update on our LeMons Race

I think you've got the right idea swapping a Duratec in there. Drop a bone stock long block with your stand alone and you'll be passing Diesel Vette's with ease and last more than a season!!! :)
After 3 blown engines, and having the TR slant 4 in and out 5 times,
we have decided to take the plunge and put a Duratec in our LeMons car.
We
requested (and received) what I believe to be the first ever Negative
Residual Value Determination in LeMons history. That means we would
need to spend $$ on this P.O.S. in order to be able to give it away...
That gives us a little more budget to make it live again.
Yes, the motor mounts are overkill, but we had the material on hand, as is the mantra of LeMons.
BTW, the frame is straightened on my Duratec powered Lotus 15 replica, and it should be back on the road this summer.
WOw. Is that some left over structural I beam??? ;)
Looks good!
Whats your plan for the intake mani?
OE mani will put the TB pointing at the firewall. Ranger mani will put it centered on top, but might have hood clearance issues? Might look cool to see it poking out the hood tho!!!
Nice work!!!
Initiially, I plan to use the Ranger manifold, as the Focus one hits the firewall. We will test it out on the dyno to make sure I have the wiring right, then I will move it to the car, and drive it with the hood off for a while. Then we will either gut the hood, or make something from some motorcycle throttles.
