Well, when I purchased this car it had an LCR 1 1/2" .120 wall chrome-moly cage already installed. It had some bolt ons and what not, but most of which I wasnt gonna use. I bought this car to race at a local 1/4 mile paved oval. They have some very strict safety rules so the LCR door bars had to go and more were added. I must run a fuel cell, and have an alluminum racing seat as well. Im biulding a custom steering coulmn as well with a detatchable steering wheel.

The suspension will get a lot of modifications. The rear will get screw jacks so I can change the ride height from inside the car, as well as custom adjustable lower control arms. Massive upper arms and toe arms. I have QA1 coilover sleeves for the front along with FS race camber plates and spring hats. Adjustable endlinks on all four corners.

The motor will remain stock for this year, partly due to funds and cause this year is more of a learning curve. The rules only allow me to modify the header and the rest of the exhaust, intake only (no TB or manifold), 10% increase in cams, pullies, tuning, and 11:1 compression. No headwork except for shaving.

Ive got 15x7 Bassett racing wheels on order, and it will have 205/60/15 Sumitomo HTR200 tires. (spec tire, not my first choice)

Well heres some pics. How it looked when I purchased it.

Gutted the interior

Skinned the doors

New radiator, 3" core

Trimmed the dash and gutted all the venting off of it. You can lift it with one finger.

Fuel cell test fitted, had to cut a large hole in the spare tire well to make her fit.

Skinned and rehung the hatch with door pins installed

New seat

Pickin her up from the cage place on my new trailer

Front kickers that come in through the firewall from the dash bar and connect to the front frame rails and ties into the strut towers. Ghetto intake is from previous owner...

And thats where shes at as of right now. More progress to come over the next couple weeks. Check back in.

I worked on her for a few hours today. Got the rear subframe pulled out and cut the hole for one of the screw jacks. Burnt the drill up and used up all my sawzall blades or I would have done both, but heres the pics.

The bolt sticking out is machined and accepts a 1/2" socket wrench. All I have to do is turn it to adjust ride height. And theyre made to accept 5" springs so I can order whatever spring rate Id like.

Could def fit a larger rear spring in that cup, no?  5" wont fit you think?

Looks good!

Those cups are made to fit 5 or 5 1/2" springs. Stock focus springs are 3 1/4" ID and they fit like a glove, to bad nobody makes springs in that size. QA1 makes 3.5" but only in a few different weights...

Modified the rear subframe last night to fit between. Gonna weld plates on the end and bolt it on incase something happens where Id have to remove it. This new suspension better work, cause it was a real pain in the ass to do. lol

Pulled the subframe back out. Then took out the gas tank. I REALLY should have done that a long time ago, but I was plannin on gettin in runnin agin on the stock system before swappin to the cell to rule out any problems, but I said screw it... So I got it out tonight, and decided to call it a night after that. I'll hopefully be gettin more work done here soon.

And how she sits as of right now.
