WILMOT RACEWAY OPENS NEW SEASON MAY 14th
The first green flag of the 2011 racing season at the Wilmot
Raceway waves on Saturday Night May 14th. The third-mile clay oval located at
the Kenosha County Fairgrounds in Wilmot has had a long tradition of Saturday
night racing, and the tradition continues every Saturday night thru September.
Over one hundred race cars are expected to compete in the five division program
opening night, as 900 horsepower Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks, 1200cc
Mini-Sprints, and a 4 cylinder stock car class all participate.
All five of last year's Wilmot Raceway track champions are
expected back to defend their titles over some of the best competition the
region has to offer. Tommy Sexton - Sprints, Scott Kuxhouse - Modifieds, AJ
Hedges - Steeet Stocks, Todd Lehr - Mini-Sprints, and Eric Grosch - Fearless 4's
are the defending Wilmot Raceway track champions. Wilmot Raceway is certainly
going to be the home of dirt track racing for many this season, as the track is
the only oval track located near the I-94 corridor between Milwaukee and
Chicago.
In addition to the weekly Saturday night racing divisions,
several special events are planned that will draw both regional and national
attention. The upper-Midwest's premier racing series, The Bumper to Bumper IRA
Outlaw Sprint Series headlines May 28, July 23, August 20, and September 24. The
American Motorcycle Association's National All-Star Flat Track Series is
scheduled for June 4, A big regional Midget Car showdown featuring the
Badger/Powri/Illini groups is scheduled for July 16, The Open Wheel Extravaganza
featuring Sprints plus Midgets and Modifieds is August 13, The Wisconsin Dirt
Late Model Association bring the best in high quality regional stock car racing
to Wilmot September 17. And we haven't forgot where we've come from as there are
a trio of dates for the Vintage Modifieds too. And ofcourse the Kenosha County
Fair August 17-21 as Motorsport events are scheduled throughout the five day
gathering, including Truck & Tractor Pulls plus the very popular Combine
Demo Derby on Wednesday & Thursday, A 3-Division Race Program Friday, The
IRA Outlaw Sprints headline Saturday, plus the Kenosha County Fair Demolition
Derby Sunday afternoon & evening.

day hotline 262-862-2090. Pit gates open at 3pm, Grandstand gates at 5pm with
on-track action beginning at 6pm weekly.
Kinda surprised that Eric hasnt shown up to either practice. I wonder if he plans on showing...? And if he does, what he plans on bringing...
He probably has a secret weapon he is going to unleash on all of us...
we will tell, when you tell us who you are.
Eric Grosch read the last point champion in the article for 4 bangers. Most if not all of these guys are four banger drivers so I am assuming him
ding ding ding!!! Yep. EriK wit a K BTW. I'm sensitive to K spelling issues, as you can tell.
A true norseman.
Well, that's hwo the track has been spelling it all along.

Unless youre him, who gives a shit?
I sure hope there is enough cars to make a complete field in more then the sprints this week. I will be staying in Burlington so gunna pass on Jefferson and stop over in Wilmot. Hope its worth the time
Maybe someone will do like that one modified driver(74) did couple years ago get black flagged and just keep driving around till they cut him off with the support vehicles. now that shit was FUNN-E

Pass on jefferson? Are you a spectator, or driver?
"thats possible ^"
hahah.. Sure is! He will be there.
i thought he was working the track. not driving or spectating. but he didnt say whom he is when he asked to work on my car.
I had planned on scoring. Steve never returned my call if needed or not so maybe he found someone else?
