Stickers...

Anyone have a lead on stickers? I want stickered numbers this year rather than the spray painted numbers I ran last year. I'm also looking at putting new sheet metal on the sides of my car, because Gary tore it up when he owned it. Anyone know where to get cheap sheet metal and real cheap but good quality stickers?

I dont know about "real cheap" and "good quality" being in the same sentence.  ;)

But we have a vinyl plotter.  I have some inexpensive vinyl that came with it I could use if your trying to do it super cheap.  And you could weed it yourself too to save money.  Honestly, the less expensive vinyl is perfect for these cars.  They dont hold color as long, maybe only 2 years, but the likely hood of a door number lasting more than 1 year on these cars is pretty rare anyways!

$20 for the set, you weed.  2 x 18" tall, and doubles on the 5" and 6" ones.  $35 if we weed.  $50 for a complete double order, we weed.

Weeding is the process of removing the "negative" unwanted areas of the vinyl (like the white areas of the below graphic).  Not difficult, just time consuming.

Hells yeah! I can weed, that's not a problem by me. I got plenty of time, less money hahaha

What colors can you do?

I might take you up on a name vinyl too, but trying to lose some weight and having "Big Jake" might hurt my ego ;)

That's some awesome stuff... Would look real neat at night with our races!

Thinking of going with a teal paint, I have some Cummins Onan paint, the teal stuff on power transformers... Bright stuff, and pretty durable paint. Looking at replacing the sides of the car, it might as well get painted fully

Oh, with the number stickers, I'd need one for the top of the car too. Total I'd need I think 3 large 04's, and probably only 1 small 04, I don't have a windshield and would just put the small one on the hatch somewhere

it looks best on a black car. then it blends in. if its on a light color you can see it then.
here is some good price.

hehehe I like it. I might just want my name rather than a nickname, nicknames are for people that are fast :) Do you have like a dark red to offset that teal? Or just black? Either way I can make it work I think

I was jus playin.  It can say anything u want.  I've got:

white
black
red
blue
yellow (2 shades)
purple
pink
silver
orange

and I think a few others.  That's a pretty strong color, so I'm thinkin a more neutral color would be best.  White, black, silver.  Blue would prob go too.

I was thinking black, I should probably go with first instinct. Now I just gotta get me some time to cut the doors apart and get the new sheet metal on the car. Then paint and it's ready for stickers. How much time do you need to make the stickers? Don't want to pull you away from anything important you know? Oh, and I was thinking, it's totally up to you, but if you want I could sport a Massive sticker on my car since you're helping me out. Up to you.

Question, and I don't know if I've asked you already or not, do you have a place one could take a car to be painted? I was thinking of asking my dad but he was pretty pissed the last time I painted anything out at his house because the grass was teal for a week. smile

Gimme a day to make em.  Sure, we can cut you a massive sticker!!!

I dont really have a place for painting to be honest...  I dont really think I want my parking lot teal either!  :)

Thats why we use a ROLLER.  No overspray!

Alright, I could pick up the stickers next week some time, probably Thursday, that's my next day off. Leaving for the Dells today and will be back Sunday night, but if Thursday works for you that would be awesome. I gotta get to cutting some sheet metal somehow, and then pop riveting on some new metal. Or I could just put the new stuff on over the dents, I'm undecided on that yet. What's an extra few pounds on that thing anyways? I'm more limited by the transmission if I run 2nd gear, I top out on the straights. At the test and tune I want to run slightly smaller tires and try 3rd gear. Maybe that'll help, maybe not. Well anyways, if Thursday works for you that would be awesome, just let me know a final price so I know what to bring. Not sure how big of a Massive sticker I can run, my hood is taken already. I'll measure and get back to you on that one!

Sounds good.  I just kinda picked a random font for the numbers I thought looked fairly "at speed".  You fine with those?  I also need a color choice.

Personally, I'd prob leave the sheet metal underneath.  Just bash it in so the new stuff lays flat.  Can't hurt to have a little more backbone behind it when your leaning on someone in the turn.  Door skins and quarter skins cant be much more than 20 lbs total, so I dont think weight is too much of a concern.
