Massive Speed Build Coverage - 2005 Focus "Nitrous Pete"
Thought we would begin a buiild thread on one of our favorite customer's cars that is in the shop right now.
Pete's car is a 2005 Focus ZX3, oringally equipped with a 2.0 Duratec motor.
The car has been here for some time. Unfortunately for everyone involved, we had MAJOR supplier issues, namely an engine machinist and our cylinder head dude. Throw about a 6 month down time into the mix... Lucky for us, Pete is a kick ass fella an patient as hell. He also knows that this thing will be a BAD mamajama when it done.
Vehicle is a nice foundation equipped with a host of lookin-good parts, as well as Saleen wheels and complete Eibach/Saleen suspension (springs, shocks, struts, rear sway).
We have assembled a fresh, built bottom end:
Ranger 2.3 Duratec block and Crank
Eagle Forged rods
SuperTech Forged 9.0:1 88mm pistons
ARP Main studs
ARP Head studs
Fel Pro MLS Head Gasket
Head:
Our PORTWERKS Ultimate CNC Head Package:
5 Axis port
Chamber re-shape
+1 MM SuperTech Valves
Eibach High Lift Valve Springs
Accesories:
Cosworth Intake Manifold
FS turbo manifold
Condiments:
Garrett GT28RS SAUCE!!!
Interested to see this baby completed!
Engine is in. Charge piping is done. Still need to relocate the IAT sensor out of the MAF. Few more details and she will be running!!!
SamcoSport diverter valve in. SS braided water lines to the turbo. We waited a bit as we swapped out the turbo to a bigger GT2876R turbo at the customer's request!!! This should allow 400 Wheel with greater ease.
Should be able to fire her up tomorrow!!!
Can you imagine how cool that would look with the Cossi manifold powdercoated in Massive Purple?
Karl awesome update, what do you focus guys use for tuning? Obviously you're going to need a tune to run this but what system will you be using?
