Massive Speed Race Wagon 2010 Build Coverage

Its all bits and pieces. This latest addition really changed the whole outlook of the car. Once the bender arrives it'll hopefully come together a little quicker.
Ok, didn't know about the butt weld and the reinforcement weld. Makes me feel a ton better knowing that!
On my car, it's a lot of bodywork, but I'd like to show you the underside sometime. Aparently when the rear end came apart the first time, the guy lifted it and welded everything back into place. Well, having it in the air while doing that, I guess he welded it to the poitn where the rear suspension was un-moveable. He then re-welded everything back to what it is today. It's something of a scary sight if you look under the rear of my car. I had to replace the front frame piece that goes across both frame rails and houses the steering rack, the one that was in the car saw a few wall shots and as a result was actually tearing apart. Yeah, 1/8" thick or better steel, literally tearing like a piece of paper. Got worse every race till I found another Civic at the junkyard with that frame piece essentially hanging off the car. Lucky! So replaced and welded supports to the weak points on it just in case of another wall shot. But I got a motor mount that's basically missing, just a couple pieces of it remain on the car, that's gotta get done, ton of body work to straighten out the dents and make it look better, and gotta look over the rear end welding and possibly re-weld parts of it. Unfortunately I only have so much room, and pretty much have to leave the car on the trailer due to lack of said room. Oh, and I have to reattach the exhaust to the manifold pipe. The rest of the exhaust is literally welded to the car, just the 1 part that wasn't came off.
But yeah, that car is coming together nicely! Getting to the point where I can't wait for race season to start again!

Wow. Crazy. I guess I'd like to take a look at that! Where are u located?
I'm in Bristol, which is in Kenosha. Roughly 30 minutes from the track with a 2002 Chevy Blazer hauling a 1990 Civic on a heavy trailer. Possibly less without said items. Where are you located? I could always haul it by you some day off or after work depending on your schedule. Though I try to keep trailer hauling to less than an hour with the Blazer, I just am hesitant about the transmission. Less than 100k on it, but still, you know? But I definately would not mind another opinion on whether it's track safe or not. Looking at the nice job you did on your wagon so far, I wouldn't mind working something out with you.
What do you say we tackle some more of this bad boy tonight? Im itchin to work on it....
I really wish that damn bender would show up. I really wanna get goin on this thing.
