place got broken into

sat night/sunday morning while i was at work someone got my front door lock open and went through my shit. i have a main front door which goes into an enclosed porch, then a mostly glass door that goes into my actual house. they only made it as far as the porch thankfully because my girl and kids were home asleep! i got a call from here at 2:40am when i was coming home and she told me the front door was open and the cat was gone and my stuff was all over the place. so naturally i start freaking out and floor it. had my jeep going as fast as it could while i called 911. i actually got there like a min before the police did. they checked the house to make sure they weren't hanging around anywhere. nothing was stolen. it looks like something scared them off shortly after they got in and started throwing my stuff everywhere. i think it was when she got up to feed the baby and turned on the bathroom light. it is going down as a burglary because it was forced entry even tho they didn't get any of my stuff. i am just so pissed about the whole thing, someone going through my stuff and could of potentially hurt my family if they didn't get scared off and made it into my actual house. i am glad nothing is gone and they are safe,also glad my cat came back but i swear if they ever come back i am going to put them in the hospital and make them wish they never touched my house. i fucking hate people. i told the cop if i came home an hour earlier and caught them in the act he would be calling an ambulance to take them instead of his squad car, he laughed and agreed with me. got a dead bolt added to the door now so have it double locked, but i still worry since i will now be working over night every day starting next week. hopefully this wont happen again.
